📜 ¿Qué es la Paleta de Narmer?

La Paleta de Narmer es uno de los objetos más emblemáticos del Egipto Predinástico, datada hacia el 3100 a.C. Representa al faraón Narmer, quien unificó el Alto y el Bajo Egipto. Tallada en esquisto verde, esta paleta ceremonial no se usaba para cosmética diaria, sino como un objeto ritual. Se conservan escenas que muestran al faraón venciendo a sus enemigos y ejerciendo el poder como figura divina.

Hoy en día se puede contemplar en el Museo Egipcio de El Cairo, y es uno de los ejemplos más antiguos del uso de jeroglíficos y narrativa visual en el arte egipcio.

📜 What is the Narmer Palette?

The Narmer Palette is a ceremonial artifact from around 3100 BCE, considered a key piece of early Egyptian art. It depicts King Narmer, the ruler credited with the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt, shown triumphing over his enemies and wearing the crowns of both lands. The original is carved in siltstone and features some of the earliest known examples of Egyptian hieroglyphs.

This masterpiece is preserved today in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and is one of the oldest known historical documents in visual form.
